Matt: Founder

MattSo who am I? My name is Matt, and I have been involved with various HDTV websites over the last five years or so, which have evolved into this site you see here, HDTV News.

I have always been interested in technology for as long as I can remember, and I have always had a very special interest in what I consider the more “fun” side of technology; being multimedia, HDTVs and everything home theater.

While I’m definitely a home theater enthusiast who likes to be at the forefront of the market, I also have very good knowledge of the technical side of the market as I have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Multimedia Design and Technology, where we studied the various technology and their results in vast detail.

Stacey: Editor, On-Camera Personality

StaceyStacey’s technical background isn’t exactly what you would consider to be “formal”. Rather, you could say it was “acquired” from life experiences. But would spending hours on end playing Counter-Strike give her reasonable merit on anything technical?

Stacey’s first rendezvous came with the introduction to online gaming. Naturally, that led into learning how to better improve her game by learning specifications of computers and how changing different aspects of it such as monitors made her gaming more enjoyable. This interest in gaming and multimedia then turned to home theater and naturally HDTVs.

Stacey is a woman whose interest in HDTVs extends beyond mere aesthetics, as she equally appreciates the quality and specifications of a display.

Daryl: Guest Contributor

Daryl’s earliest foray into the world of electronics involved learning how to navigate MS-DOS and Windows 3.1 on his fathers Toshiba T1910cs laptop. Fast forward five years and you would have found him disassembling his nearly 20 virtual pets, figuring out the inner workings of their logic boards and basic, reflective backed 96×96 LCD screens and changing the backgrounds of each of his subjects.

These days you are likely to find Daryl doing one of two things: reading about technology, or talking about technology. You may also find him helping friends and family with their technology woes, setting up their home theater system and/or mobile phones, as well as changing out lamps from old Sony rear projection WEGAs.

Though he doesn’t charge GeekSquad prices for his services, he doesn’t find it any less fun to do.
