LG 55EM9600 | 55-Inch OLED HDTV
LG has been creating a whole lot of attention for themselves over the past few days by slowly revealing more and more about their upcoming HDTV products for CES 2012.
We have been digging deep into LG’s “World’s Largest OLED HDTV”, the 55-inch beauty, and have found out from from LG that it will be called the LG 55EM9600.
So now we have a model name, so anything else? Well, we know that the 55-inch LG 55EM9600 OLED HDTV has a 1080p Full HD resolution which is powered by LG’s Triple XD Engine which provides dynamic “Color Refiner” / enhancer, Contrast Optimizer and a powerful resolution upscaller.
The LG 55EM9600 can also display 3D content, and has a 2D to 3D converter. As the 55EM9600 is an OLED display the refresh rate is ridiculously fast at less than 0.1 microseconds. As these speeds there is no such thing as motion blur or less of quality / resolution during fast motion scenes, and provides excellent image clarity and natural vivid colors.
As we have known previously, the LG 55EM9600 is super slim at just 4mm, weighs just 7.5kg, and can be mounted 100% flush against a wall. It is quoted to have a contrast ratio of 100,000,000:1.
Still no release date or price just yet, but with CES 2012 just days away now, we’re sure we will know much more very soon!
Update: LG’s 55-inch OLED HDTV will be known as the LG EM960V in the UK / Europe.
