LG 55EM970V OLED TV – In The UK For £9,999

We have been following LG’s OLED HDTV ever since they first announced it an wowed the crowds at back at CES 2012.

Known as the LG 55EM970V in the U.K. The OLED TV will become the world’s first 55-inch OLED TV to be released in the U.K. The U.K will be the first European country to get their hands on the OLED TV.

Lets cut straight to the chase. The LG 55EM970V has a price tag of £9,999 and will be showcased exclusively at Harrods in London, and is available to pre-order for delivery in July 2013.

While on the subject of Harrods, they’re also stocking the 84-inch Ultra HD 4K LG 84LM960V if you feel like spending some more cash!

Just to recap on the LG 55EM970V (known as the LG 55EM9700 in the rest of the world). The 55-inch OLED TV is just 4.5 mm thin, and weighs less than 10kg and provides an image quality much higher than any LCD or plasma TV.

Making use of WRGB OLED technology, the 55EM970V has higher contrast ratio, and deeper, true blacks, with vivid bright colours which put LED / plasma TVs to shame. Other features include passive Cinema 3D technology, Smart TV functions, and a near enough bezel-less Cinema Screen Design.

Even if you would never consider dropping £10k on an TV, if you’re in London, it would be a good excuse to drop by Harrods just so you can see the beauty of OLED in person! You might even change your mind!
