Just typing that title alone made us super impressed. LG have just announced their 77-inch 4K Ultra HD OLED TV at IFA 2013 in Berlin.
If you have been following the news recently you will know that LG just achieved a number of world firsts with this product. It’s the world’s largest OLED TV, world’s largest 4K Ultra HD TV and also the largest curved TV.
LG really has thrown all they have at this 77-inch OLED TV. We first saw a prototype 4K OLED TV shown off by Sony at CES 2013 back in January, and we called it the holy grail of TVs.
While this is currently a prototype model, it is important to note that just 8 months ago LG showed off their “prototype” 55-inch curved OLED TV at CES 2013, and it is now available to purchase!
This model right here is a big leap forwards in many ways, adding the 4K resolution to the OLED technology brings it ultra HD details from its high resolution, and combined with the OLED technology which delivers the world’s best contrast and black levels. And of course, having “The world’s biggest OLED TV” title goes a long way.
LG CEO and president Havis Kwon said:
“This 77-inch TV is proof that we will never stop pushing the boundaries and exploring new possibilities.”
In case you’re wondering what the “curved” business is all about. It is said to make the viewing experience more immersive filling the viewer’s field of vision offering an IMAX like curvature.
No dates or prices just yet as this is a “prototype” model, but we will keep you updated on any news regarding it, and its future release! We would place money on it that we will see this model released by the end of 2014.
