LG G2 Google TV Shipping Out
At the beginning of the year at CES 2012 LG along with all the major HDTV manufactures released their new 2012 HDTVs, nestled within all these new HDTVs and Smart HDTVs were the LG G2 Google TV models.
Since their announcement we’ve heard very little about these promising Google TVs, until now that is.
Both the 47-Inch and 55-Inch LG G2 models are now available and shipping out to customers in the US, powered by the new Google TV platform.
They make use of the new Google TV 2.0 suite which has been improved over the first version, with a more simple user interface and apps offering more than just another Smart TV.
It has been built into LG’s own Smart TV platform, with quick access to the Google TV area. This gives you access to the Google Play store, apps, and Google services that you have become accustomed to on your Google android smartphone or tablet.
The supplied remote control comes with a full QWERTY keyboard on the back, allowing you to easily type in website addresses are more. You can also control the interface via the same motion and voice Magic remote. This is similar to the controls with have seen on the higher Samsung 2012 models, but this doesn’t depend on the use of a built in webcam. The OnLive gaming service is also built in the the LG G2′s allowing you to play the latest PC and console games directly on the HDTV via the Internet.
The LG G2′s feature LG’s latest Borderless design and u-shaped metal stand, along with Cinema 3D technology, brining 3D content via inexpensive polarized 3D glasses. These glasses do not need batteries like the active 3D glasses do, and are also cheaper to produce. LG has been kind enough to include six pairs of 3D glasses so all of your family can enjoy! The LCD is edge LED lit, and have a 120Hz refresh rate.
