Amazon Instant Video is another option in the ever increasing number of ways to deliver HD content to your new HDTV.
As people are slowly moving away form tradition ways of receiving their TV and HDTV content, and HDTVs become “Smarter” the number of alternate options keep on growing. Amazon are looking to take on the big shots such as Hulu and Netflix, having just signed a new licensing deal with Viacom.
This new deal with Viacom adds TV shows from its networks, Comedy Central, MTV, BET, VH1, Spike, Nickelodeon, TV Land, CMT and Logo to it’s Prime Instant Video Service. Amazon prime costs $79 a year and gives you unlimited 2-day free delivery on any of their products, and of course access to the Amazon Prime Instant Video service.
This brings the total number of Prime TV shows and movies available up to 15,000, and 2,000 of which are available in glorious HD. This is along with the vast other collection available for purchase of rental on the standard Amazon Instant Video service.
Amazon’s Instant video services works on hundreds of Internet connected HDTVs, Blu-ray players, and Windows and Mac computers.
