BBC Announce Dedicated HD Olympic Channel

With the 2012 London Olympics now less than 100 days away, the BBC have just announced that along with confirmed 3D Olympics coverage, they will also be proving a temporary dedicated BBC HD Olympics channel.

Just a few days ago the BBC announced that Sky and Freesat viewers would be able to access a massive 24 live channels during the Olympics!

But if you’re anything like me, you don’t just want to watch the Olympics in SD, you want to see every details in glorious HD.

Thanks to newly released digital space, the BBC will now also be broadcasting an additional dedicated HD channel just for the Olympics.

It will be a simulcast of the BBC red button service available on Freeview and channel 301 for the HD version.

You can access this new channel wither via the red button, and also directly via the Freeview HD EPG at channel 304, along with the other Red button services on Freeview channel 301 and 302.

We’re very expected and impressed to see such coverage from BBC, as they try to bring us as much of the games and they can in both HD and also 3D.   Via BBC Sports Blog
