We’re starting to see an increasing push into Ultra HD, aka 4K TVs. Right now options are few and far between, and only come in huge sizes which will set you back a small fortune. There are 84-inch Ultra HD TVs from LG and Sony, at $20,000 and $25,000 respectively.
If you’re looking for an Ultra HD / 4K TV, and don’t want a team of 8 guys delivering it, while also selling your first born, you might be interested in Hisense’s new offerings.
The Hisense XT880 series has a 2160p Ultra HD resolution, edge-to-edge display, and will be available in 50-inch, 58-inch, and 65-inch sizes. Along with featuring this 2160p resolution, it is also a smart TV, with 3D support.
While prices have yet to be announced, at these smaller sizes, we’re sure they’ll be in the price range of more people!
The 2160p UHD resolution provides four times the resolution of 1080p (Full HD) resolution for amazing picture quality and realism.
Powered by a dual core processor running Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the Hisense XT880 also offers app support, facial recognition, and voice and gesture control.
In addition to being able to watch 3D movies, and stream live TV, you can also browse the web, use social networking apps, and games.
The XT880 has built in Wi-Fi, and very cleaver detachable USB camera, which not only enables you to skype, but also to use gesture control. The camera looks very smart and clean on top, but if you want an entirely clean finish, or have privacy concerns, simply remove it.
The included “ergonomically designed” remote control has a built in microphone for voice control.
If that’s not enough, the 65-inch Hisense 65XT880 has already been named an International CES Innovations 2013 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree along with the Hisense XT780.
The Hisense XT880 will be at CES 2013, where we’ve alreayd arranged a meeting with Hisense, so check back for me details!
