IFA 2013 TV News

It’s that time of year again, IFA 2013 kicks off today (Wed 3rd of September) over in Berlin, Germany. It’s the second biggest electronics trade show in the world after the huge CES.

Basically for you and I, that means all of the major TV manufacturers will be announcing all of their latest products. While we don’t expect to see entire new product line refreshes as we do with CES, we can be sure to expect a few new models, and a few exciting products!

This page will be constantly updated with all of the IFA 2013 TV news, so be sure to keep checking back.

As always, a number of manufacturers can’t seem to contain their excitement, and release their IFA product news early, maybe the get the attention, rather than get burred in a snow storm of news.

LG 55EA8800 Gallery OLED TV

The biggest new so far is the announcement of the LG 55EA8800 Gallery OLED TV.

This 55-inch OLED TV will be shown at IFA 2013, and features a speaker frame.

It is also the first OLED TV which can be wall mounted.

Samsung 4K Monitor and 98-inch 4K Wall

Samsung have also announced that they will be showing off a 98-inch 4K Video Wall & 31.5-inch 4K Monitor.

Sony X8 4K TVs – Cheaper 4K TV Series

Sony have announced two new 4K TVs which have a cheaper price point than the X9 versions. The 55-inch XBR-55X850A ($3499) and 65-inch XBR-65X850A ($4499) do not feature the advanced magnetic fluid speakers, which results in a narrower TV footprint.

Sony S990A KDL-65S990A curved LED LCD TV

It’s no longer just OLED TVs which are curved. Sony wants to get in on the “curved TV” game and have announced the 65-inch KDL-65S990A curved LED LCD TV.
