TCL 7E504D 50-inch 4K TV for $999

TLC have just announced that they will be releasing the TCL 7E504D 50-inch 4K LED Ultra HD TV to the U.S market for just $999. It’s scheduled to arrive in September.

The low price of just under a grand is clearly the big news here. Over the past couple of months we have seen the big players such and Sony, Samsung, and LG announce and release their 4K TVs, but even though they are much cheaper than their $25,000 84-inch models we saw last year, they still start at about $5,000.

The TCL 7E504D has a 3,840 x 2,160-pixel resolution ultra HD resolution, with edge LED lighting, a 120Hz CMI refresh rate, and a claimed 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.

It has four HDMI inputs, a USB connector for media file playback, and MHL compatibility. It also features SRS TruSurroundHD sound.

The 50-inch 4K TCL can also upscale non 4K content upto 4K to get the best out of it. TCL say that it has a slim frame and an ultra thin bezel with a gunmetal finish. Looking at the photos, we can’t disagree.

While on the subject of cheap 4K TVs, it is important to also mention the 50-inch Seiki SE50UY04 4K TV, which has a price tag of $1,499, but is going for $1,098 on Amazon.
