Toshiba has announced and unveiled their latest line of HDTVs for 2013 at CES 2013.
They have 20 new models which come from six new series. Of these six series they can be further divided into three categories; the Toshiba L9300 series which consist of three Ultra HD 4K HDTVs, the “Cloud TV series” (L7350, L7300, L4300), and the “LED TV” series consisting of the L2300 and L1350.
Clearly leading the show is their “second generation of 4K Ultra HD TV series” the Toshiba L9300.
The Toshiba L9300 series down to the L4300 series are all premium LED TVs with advanced “Cloud TV”. This is essentially Toshiba’s twist of the traditional Smart TV and have taken it further to provides a “better, smarter connected experience”. The Cloud TV feature should make it easier to discover and acquire content, with better mobile device interactivity, social interfration and “server-based upgradability”.
Features include family calendar, messaging, MediaShare, MediaGuide, News, and built in wireless sharing with Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) and Miracast technology. All make use of full HD 1080p LED LCD panels and picture enhancing technologies.
The Toshiba L9300 Ultra HD 4K TV is Toshiba’s show stopping series, boasting a 4K resolution of 4x that of 1080p. Sony and LG had 84-inch 4K TVs out last year, and have both recently announced smaller models. Toshiba is now joining the party and have three sizes. The L9300 series will be available in three sizes, as the 58-inch Toshiba 58L9300, 65-inch 65L9300, and the huge 84-inch Toshiba 84L9300.
Toshiba say the L9300 series of UltraHD LED TVs offers the ultimate viewing experience for movies, games and TV. It’s powered by Toshiba CEVO 4K Quad+Dual Core Processor with powerful UltraHD upscaling and 2D to 3D conversion. Along with the highest 4K resolution, it also have the highest color gamut and “surface brilliance” enhancements.

The Toshiba L7350 is the top of the range / flagship series of the “standard” Full HD 1080p HDTVs. It is a LED 3D Cloud TV series and will be available in two sizes, as the 58-inch Toshiba 58L7350, and as the 65-inch Toshiba 65L7350.
This is the only non 4K series to support active 3D. Select models will be available from March 2013.
Next up is the Toshiba L7300 series. The L7300 series is similar to the L7350 but lacks the 3D capability. It is a 2D LED cloud TV with a 1080p LCD panel.
It will be available in three sizes as the 50-inch Toshiba 50L7300, 58-inch 58L7300, and as the 65-inch 65L7300. Select models available from March 2013.
The Toshiba L4300 is the last of the premium / cloud TVs from Toshiba for 2013. This LED cloud TV series will be available in three sizes as the 32-inch Toshiba 32L4300, 39-inch 39L4300, and 50-inch 50L4300.
Select models from the L4300 series will also be available from March 2013.
The Toshiba L2300 series is the first of the 2013 “affordable yet stylish” LED LCD TVs.
The L2300 series will be available from the very small 23-inch to the 32-inch, 39-inch and 50-inch sizes. Toshiba hasn’t released much information just yet, but we do know it will have a “Gun Metallic Satin Deco and base”.
Select L2300 models will be available March 2013, no pricing has been revealed just yet.
The Toshiba L1350 series is the second series of the affordable yet stylish LED TV series. While their bottom of the line, or most affordable series the L1350 series still looks attractive.
Toshiba have said even less about this series, and all be currently know about it is the screen sizes. The L1350 series will be available in 23-inch, 29-inch, 32-inch, 39-inch and 50-inch screen sizes.
The Toshiba L1350 series models should all be available from March 2013.
