Panasonic have announced and unveiled their 2013 lineup of plasma HDTVs at CES 2013 in Vegas.
We were there, and we got to see their impressive lineup in person. We have already covered Panasonic’s 16 new LED LCD HDTVs for 2013, so be sure to also read that article.
Panasonic have long been known for their leading plasma TV range, and with 16 new plasma HDTVs spread over five new series, I’m sure their 2013 lineup won’t disappoint.
The five series cover sizes ranging from 42-inch to 65-inches, and introduce new features such as My Home Screen, Swipe & Share 2.0, Touch Pen, Voice Guidance & Interaction. My Home Screen allows each user to have their own home screen with quick access to their favorite content. Swipe and Share 2.0 is Panasonic’s latest media sharing application for use with smart phones and tablets.
For 2013 Panasonic have introduced a new top of the line flagship series, the Panasonic ZT60 / ZT, which comes ahead of 2012’s award winning VT series.
We’ll start at the top, and work our way down the series.
While at the Panasonic booth at CES 2013, I filmed the entire new plasma range, be sure to watch the video below.
Panasonic ZT60 Series
The Panasonic ZT60 is their flagship series for 2013, and it has high potential for being the best new plasma HDTV on the market. It’s available in two sizes, as the 60-inch Panasonic TC-P60ZT60, and the 65-Inch Panasonic TC-P65ZT60.
They have a 1080p resolution with active 3D technology and come with two pairs of active 3D shutter glasses. They feature My Home Screen, Swipe and Share 2.0, WiFi, Web browser, 2D to 3D conversion, come with a Touch pad controller. They have 3X HDMI inputs, and 3x USB.
Panasonic are calling the Viera ZT60 series a “Beyond the reference” level of picture quality. The front glass is directly attached to the plasma panel, rather than leaving a small gap, this enhances the image quality and design. It features ultimate black color and a much enhanced 3D image due to a reduction in cross talk.
A 3000 Focused-field Drive provides crisp, clear images during high motion. A wider than before color gamut (DCI 98% Color Space) has been achieved with the help of a pure red phosphor. The Panasonic ZT60 features THX in both 3D and 2D modes, along with ISFccc Calibration Mode, advanced calibration, and included CALMAN calibration software. Touch Pen is also supported (Panasonic TY-TP10U)
Apps, DNLA, WiFi, Bluetooth and cloud based IPTV are all supported. A new phosphor process extends panel life.
