Panasonic DMP-BDT100 Blu-ray 3D player Announced

Panasonic have just announced the DMP-BDT100 Blu-ray 3D player, the very latest model to join their blu-ray player lineup.

Currently Panasonic’s existing lineup starts at an un-wallet friendly $399, so it makes sense for Panasonic to release a more affordable model to compete with the likes of Sony and Samsung etc.

The Panasonic DMP-BDT100 is their first single HDMI (1.4) output and 3D blu-ray player. The Panasonic BDT100 still features high quality playback along with Viera Cast which supports Amazon VOD, Netflix, and Pandora access and streaming. Out of the box it only supports Ethernet, but the Panasonic DY-WL10 Wireless LAN Adapter is also available.

Full HD 3D playback is supported along with 1080p upscalling of non HD content. The player is also said to be smaller at one and a half inches smaller than the BDT350 and more energy efficient.

The DMP-BDT100 is also very fast, with a load time of less than half a second. No word on pricing just yet, but it is expected to be cheaper than their existing models.

It should be available sometime this month, we will keep you updated on its release.
