Samsung DA-F60

Samsung DA-F60 Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review

When we reviewed the flagship Samsung F8000 Smart TV, we were also provided with the beautiful little Samsung DA-F60 portable bluetooth speaker.

We of course jumped at the chance to review this speaker. If you’re wondering how the DA-F60 ties into a HDTV / Smart TV website, it’s because Samsung have designed the DA-F60 to work with many of their latest Smart TVs via a wireless “SoundShare” mode. This allows you to use this speaker instead of your Smart TV’s built in speakers, with the added benefit of being able to take the speaker into another room with you and continue to listen to the program.

We reviewed the DA-F60, which has a silver finish, but there is also the Samsung DA-F61 which is identical, but has a darker finish.

The portable bluetooth market is becoming a very crowed one, and is full of small, cheap devices offering sub par audio. The Samsung DA-F60 on the other hand easily stands out from the crowd, and for more reasons than just its stylish design.

Along with its great design, it also features NFC for easy wireless connection, and apt-X technology for CD quality wireless streaming. The speaker is portable, and features a battery which can power it for 10-12 hours allowing you to use it outside.

Samsung F8000 vs F7000

Samsung F7000 Vs F8000 Smart TV

We have a lot of people coming to this website searching for a comparison between two TV series, and many people find their way to our 2013 databases (Samsung, Sony, LG) for easy comparison.

Over the past couple of weeks we have been lucky enough to review both the flagship Samsung F8000 series, and the Samsung F7000 series, which is just one down from the top.

Both the F7000 and F8000 are from the Samsung 2013 Smart TV series and  feature Samsung’s latest, and best on the market (in our opinion) 2013 Smart hub.  In both the F8000 and F8000 it’s powered by a quad core processor, rather than a dual core processor in the lower spec models, this means they are both lightning fast.

Both the Samsung F8000 and Samsung F7000 both feature a built in camera which pops out and pushes into the frame.

Samsung F8000 vs F7000

Samsung F8000 vs F7000

Design: Specification wise they are very similar.  In terms of design, they both have a high quality metal bezel and frame.  The inner bezel on the F8000 is black, where as it is metal on the F7000.

The F8000 has an “Arc” stand which is meant to be less noticeable from the front and almost appear as if it was floating.  While the F7000 has a rectangular brush aluminum frame.  Neither models can be rotated.  This one comes down to personal choice.

Samsung F7000 Review [Video]

The Samsung F7000 Smart TV series comes from Samsung’s latest 2013 line up. The 2013 Series 7 F7000 range comes in at just one step down from Samsung’s flagship F8000 series, which we reviewed last week.

This is the U.K / European model, and features and built in webcam, and is powered by a quad-core processor. Specification wise this looks very similar to the U.S’s F7500 series, only with a different design and stand.

As this is the second highest rated Smart TV you know it’s going to be feature packed. When compared to the flagship F8000 it mostly identical, with the obvious exception of the stand, and a few other features including “Cinema Black” and the built in subs.

Google Chromecast Review

Ever since Google announced their $35 Chromecast streaming dongle, the attention and demand it has gained has been nothing short of astounding. No doubt mostly due to its very low price tag.

The day the Chromecast was announced and made available to order, we jumped on the chance and ordered ours. We’re very glad that we did, as the official Google store and Amazon all now have a 3-4 week lead time.

We have had ours for the past week or so, and we have been obsessed with it ever since, and have use it for testing, and personal purposes ever day since.

We’re now very happy to bring you our video review of the Google Chromecast where we show you its entire simple setup procedure, usage and review.

Samsung ES8000

Samsung 55ES8000 Review

Announced earlier in the year at CES 2012, the Samsung ES8000 is Samsung’s latest and greatest flagship LED LCD Smart TV.

As soon as you hear flagship, you know it is going to be packed full of features, have amazing specifications and finished with a beautifully slim design, and from first looks, it certainly doesn’t disappoint.

Building on the success of last years D8000 series, the new ES8000 should have everything and more than you could have ever asked for from a Smart TV. I feel that Samsung has pushed the whole “Smart TV” area the furthest, and just like the ES7000 series which we reviewed earlier, of course features Samsung Smart Interaction, enabling both gesture and voice control.

I will be reviewing the 55-Inch UE55ES8000 model, as it’s known in the UK, also know as the Samsung UN55ES8000 in the U.S. In the UK it is available in 40, 46, and 55-Inch sizes. While in the U.S it is available in 46, 55, 60, and 65-Inch sizes. This review will apply to all the models.

Here at HDTV News we’re very proud to bring you our hands on of the very impressive and cutting edge Sony XBR-84X900 84-Inch 4K TV!

The Sony 84X900 is much more than simply a huge HDTV at 84-Inches, in fact it’s not even a HDTV, it’s a 4K TV or also know as an Ultra HD TV. This really is what makes the XBR-84X900 stand out from the other huge TVs out there. It has a resolution of 4x that of standard Full HDTVs, with 8 million pixels, 3,840 x 2,160.

The hands on video we have here is introduced by our beautiful Stacey and demonstrated by store manager Keith, from the Fashion Valley Stony store located in San Diego, California.

Samsung 46ES7000

Samsung 46ES7000 Review

Here we have the very impressive looking 46-Inch Samsung 46ES7000 Smart 3D HDTV from Samsung’s 2012 ES7000 series.

This latest series 7 model sits very high up in the 2012 roster, and comes in just one notch below the flagship ES8000 series.

While the Samsung ES7000 series might not be #1, looking through the specifications and features of both, they appear to only differ slightly by their design, and one feature. The ES7000 reviewed here features “Micro Dimming Pro” rather than “Micro Dimming Ultimate” as featured in the ES8000.

Please note, we have reviewed the UK model here, in the U.S it is known as the Samsung UN46ES7500 from the Samsung ES7500 series, so feel free to associate this review with the UN46ES7500 also.

Panasonic TC-P65VT50

Panasonic TC-P65VT50 Review

The Panasonic TC-P65VT50 is the largest 65-Inch model from Panasonic’s new top of the line, flagship VT50 plasma series.

After gaining a huge amount of attention at its launch, the VT50 is finally available. We’re proud to be able to provide you with an excellent user review written exclusively for HDTV-News.Com by Brandon Kalaskie. If you’re interested in providing a user review, please contact us.

One of the difficulties in becoming an early adopter of a new TV is deciding how confident you should be before making the big purchase, especially without the benefit of a peer review. Allow me to alleviate this fear concerning the Panasonic VIERA TC-P65VT50 plasma television. Believe the hype. Truth in advertising may have fallen by the way side in recent years, but Panasonic went against the mold in publicizing its VT50 series. You may treat every press release about this TV as gospel. The VT50 quite handily set the high mark for this year’s crop of televisions.

I’ll try to keep this review confined to the more underwhelming or confusing aspects surrounding the VT50 plasma, as listing its many praises would just become tedious. This plasma set really is that good.
