Samsung Smart TVs Add Spotify App

One of my favorite programs / services to use is Spotify. I use it pretty much all day long while I’m working, providing me with an endless amount of music. I also have the spotify app on my Android phone which I use at the gym, on the plane etc, but now with the help of Samsung, spotify is coming to your living room.

Spotify recently announced that together with Samsung, Spotify will now be available on Samsung’s latest Internet connected Smart TVs.

The new app has full access to their entire catalog of over 18 million tracks, and features a new interface which has been specifically design for Smart TVs, making it easy to navigate using the remote.

It is linked up to your Spotify account, so you can view, play and edit your playlists, as well as subscribing and browsing your friends’ favorite tracks and playlists. You can also search tracks, albums, artists and view top tracks and new releases.

To get it up and running you just need to download the Spotify app from the app store on your Samsung Smart TV, blu-ray player or home theater system, and then log in to Spotify.

Unfortunately, it looks like you will need a Premium subscription for it to work. If you’re already a premium subscriber, you’re all set to go, if not, visit where you can get a free 30 day trial of Spotify Premium

The Spotify app will initially be available on the new Samsung 2012 E series Smart TVs, such as the Samsung ES7000.
