2013 Sharp AQUOS TV Lineup

Sharp is back for 2013 with their latest AQUOS line of HDTVs, and they have gone big! Don’t expect any bedroom sized TVs from sharp, but you can expect to find nearly 20 TVs ranging from 60-inch all the way up to 80-inches!

John Herrington of Sharp couldn’t have said it any better; “It’s simple – consumers want big screens with excellent picture quality, something that Sharp is uniquely able to deliver”.

Sharp were even showing off “The World’s Largest LED TV” at a massive 90-inches, the Sharp LC90LE745 / LC90LE745U.

Sharp have increased the number of models which feature their Quattron technology, which features an extra yellow pixel to deliver more than a billion color, resulting in improved colors and details.

Sharp have introduced nearly twenty models over three series, the Sharp AQUOS Quattron 8-Series, Sharp AQUOS 7-Series, and Sharp AQUOS 6-Series.

Sharp LC-60HQ10 – 60-Inch Ultra HD TV

While a prototype was on display at CES 2012, this is the first we have heard of the 60-Inch 4K Ultra HD “Integrated Cognitive Creation” TV turning into a production model and hitting the market.

The Sharp LC-60HQ10 has just been announced in Japan for the princely sum of 2.62 million yen. While in USD it might not be in the millions, it is still not cheap. Converted into USD it equates to just over $30,000.

When you do the math, and take a look at the 84-Inch Ultra HD TVs from Sony, and LG at $25,000 and $20,000 respectively, it looks even more expensive. Why pay more for a smaller 4K TV?

Sharp LC90LE745E 90-inch World’s Largest LED HDTV

The Sharp LC90LE745E is a large HDTV, no, the LC90LE745E is a HUGE LED HDTV. In fact it is the world’s largest LED HDTV.

While it has become hard to keep track of all of the “World’s Largest” anything now days in the audio visual world, with both LG and Samsung climbing to have the world’s largest and first 55-Inch OLED HDTV, which were both announced at CES last January.

While the 90-Inch Sharp LC90LE745E isn’t the largest HDTV in the world, it is apparently the world’s largest LED HDTV.

It is known as the Sharp LC-90LE745U in the U.S, and as the Sharp LC90LE745E in the UK, and Europe.

Sharp Aquos Quattron G Introduced

Sharp have just announced the new Aquos Quattron G series to the market over in Japan.

The new Quattron G models all feature the new Quattron technology which makes use of red, green, blue and yellow color filters (with yellow being an additional color) to bring more natural and realistic colors.

Sharp have announced six new models in the Quattron G series with sizes ranging from 40-inch to a massive 80-inches.

The 40, 46, 52, and 60-inch models will be released June 10th 2012, with the 70, and 80-inch models following shortly after on June 20th.

Sharp AQUOS Quattron 8-Series: LC-60LE847U, LC-70LE847U

Before CES 2012 kicked off, Sharp announced the largest family member of the Sharp 8-Series AQUOS Quattron 3D LED TVs, the huge 80-inch Sharp LC-80LE844U. This gained a lot of attention as it was proclaimed to be the world’s largest 3D HDTV.

But there are two other members to the 8-Series Aquos, the still very large, 60-inch Sharp LC-60LE847U, and the 70-inch Sharp LC-70LE847U.

Sharp LC-60LE745U, LC-70LE745U 7-Series HDTVs Shipping

Sharp sent out a press release this morning, which landed in our inbox, notifying us that their new 2012 Sharp Aquos 7-series LED HDTVs were now available and shipping out.

The very large 60-inch Sharp LC-60LE745U, and truly massive 70-inch Sharp LC-70LE745U are both available today at very reasonable prices of $2,000, and $3,199 respectively (MSRPs).

Both of these Aquos 7-series 745U models are slim thanks to their edge LED lighting, and have a high 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for great colors and black levels.

Own a big screen HDTV, but want a bigger HDTV, or the biggest HDTV that money can buy?

Cast your gaze towards to huge, and I mean HUGE, 80-inch Sharp LC-80LE844U 3D HDTV. Sharp are claiming that the LC-80LE844U is the world’s biggest 3D HDTV, and we’re not going to disagree with them, and are hoping they send us one to review, although I doubt it will fit through my front door!

Sharp recently built a new mile long LCD factory focused on producing large HDTVs over 60-inches and the Sharp LC-80LE844U is one of the very first out of the door.

Sharp 2012 HDTV Prices

With the vast majority of the new 2012 HDTVs coming our way in the next couple of months it is little wonder that we are now starting to see more price leaks on these upcoming products.

Manufactures try to keep the prices under wraps until their products are in the stores and shipping out to buyers. Price lists are distributed to authorized dealers before the products reach them, and these dealers are often the source of the leak.

We have seen the leaked prices for Panasonic’s plasma 2012 range, and all but the very top range of Sony’s 2012 HDTVs, and now it’s time for Sharps 2012 beans to spilled.

Sharp 8K4K TV Demoed

Just a few week ago we wrote a post about the future of HDTV being UHDTV or Ultra HDTV, and how its standards had finally been officially set.

Sharp didn’t waste any time at all, and have given visitors to the IFA trade show a view of the future TV standard.

The huge 85-inch Sharp 8K4K Super Hi-Vision TV / UHDTV has a massive 8K4K resolution (7,680 x 4,320 pixels).
