Sharp LC-80LE844U | 80-Inch 3D HDTV

Own a big screen HDTV, but want a bigger HDTV, or the biggest HDTV that money can buy?

Cast your gaze towards to huge, and I mean HUGE, 80-inch Sharp LC-80LE844U 3D HDTV. Sharp are claiming that the LC-80LE844U is the world’s biggest 3D HDTV, and we’re not going to disagree with them, and are hoping they send us one to review, although I doubt it will fit through my front door!

Sharp recently built a new mile long LCD factory focused on producing large HDTVs over 60-inches and the Sharp LC-80LE844U is one of the very first out of the door.

To get an idea of just how huge the LC-80LE844U is, a 80-inch HDTV has more than double the screen area of a 55-inch HDTV!

The LC80LE488U isn’t just a huge 3D TV, it also features Sharp’s latest 3D X-Gen panel, and four color Quattron Pixel Plus II technology for improved colors, and better 3D images. As well as being LED backlit the 80-inch HDTV also features 240Hz refresh rate to reduce motion blur and image judder.

Sharp has gone with the active shutter glasses for their 3D technology. Other features include built in WiFi, a new SmartCentral interface, and access to a number of apps, such as Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, and YouTube, and other online services.

The Sharp LC-80LE844U will be heading its way to retailers this April, for a recommended asking price of $6,499.

Update!: We have just found that the 80-inch monster is now shipping out, and at a lower price than expected at just $5,500 from Amazon.
