Sony’s 84-Inch Ultra HD TV Comes with 10 4K Ultra HD Movies & Xperia Tablet S

Have a spare $25,000 in your pocket for the Sony 84-Inch 4k Ultra HD TV, but you’re holding off buying due to the lack of 4K / Ultra HD content?!

Well Sony is certainly hoping that such people do exist out there.

The lack of freely available 4K content is certainly of a concern to most buyers, after all, having spent a bucket or two on a beautiful cutting edge Ultra HD TV you’re going to want to show it off at its very best!

Sony are now including ten 4K Ultra HD movies free with the Sony XBR-84X900 (known as the Sony KD-84X9005 in Europe) via a free loaned 4K Ultra HD Video Player.

Yes that’s right it’s a loan, but Sony does say that the 4K Ultra HD video player can be updated and there will be further UHD content and delivery solutions. This is of interest, and we’re sure a standard blu-ray disc doesn’t have the capacity to store a full 4K movie on it. So maybe the deliver is via the Internet?

The 4K movies include; The Amazing Spider-Man, Total Recall (2012), The Karate Kid (2010), Salt, Battle Los Angeles, The Other Guys, Bad Teacher, That’s My Boy, along with the restored classics Taxi Driver and The Bridge on the River Kwai.

Along with the 84-Inch Ultra HD TV itself, you also get a Sony Xperia Tablet S to use as a remote control, a pair of passive 3D glasses, the Ultra HD player loan with 10 Ultra HD films. There is also a gallery of 4K UHD videos which can be used to show off your beautiful new purchase.

If you’re still not happy with the 10 4K movies, don’t forget that the Sony XBR-84X900 also features a three chip upscaller which is used to get the very best out of 1080p HD and other content. This is described in our full hands on video.
