We have heard talks of Vizio entering in to the 4K Ultra HD market for some time now, but as of yet have yet to see any real products announced.
DigiTimes have just leaked out some information which gives us an expected time-line for their 4K TVs. They say that Vizio will release their range of 4K TVs in the first quarter of 2014.
They’re expected to be above 50-inches, with their 65-inch panel expected to be sourced from AU Optronics.
We’re also hearing talk of an 84-inch model which should be coming our way by the end of this year (2013). This 84-inch panel will be supplied from LG Display. The same panel used in LG’s and Sony’s 84-inch 4K TV. Foxconn Electronics is also expected to be supplying panels to Vizio.
Sony and LG were the first to get 4K TVs to market, and they both started with their huge 84-inch TVs. Now we’re seeing smaller 4K models from these manufacturers, along with many other manufacturers now entering in to the 4K market.
Vizio is known for having very good prices, so this should be a great shake up in the 4K Ultra HD TV market, which is currently ruled by the big players. Having said that we have seen Sony, LG and Samsung all recently slash their 4K TV prices as they are competing so fiercely with each other.
We will no doubt see Vizio showing off their 4K TVs at CES 2014 in next January. We will of course be there coving it first hand. Via Digitimes
