Westinghouse 2012 HDTVs Announced at CES
While the likes of Samsung and LG are teasing us with sneak peeks of their upcoming HDTVs for 2012 (which they will fully reveal next week at CES 2012), Westinghouse have gone further, much further, and have just announced their whole HDTV lineup for 2012!
While they have told us exactly what we can expect to see from them in 2012, including all the different series, they have, as expected, held back on any prices, release dates, and most model names. But we’re sure they will divulge this information next week at CES.
We’re seeing a number of LED backlit LCD models (aka. LED HDTVs), including the 70-inch Westinghouse UW70T9VZ (UW70 Series), and the 55-inch Westinghouse EW55 series. Both have 1080p and 120Hz refresh rates.
Westinghouse are also proudly showing off their very first ultra slim bezel HDTV, the 46-inch Westinghouse UW46T5PZ (UW Series).
The 2012 Westinghouse HDTV line up features HDTVs from just 19-inches, all the way up to a massive 70-inch set. There is also one 3D model, the Westinghouse W47S2TCD.
Westinghouse UW70 / EW55 Series
Westinghouse are calling their UW70 / EW55 series their “powerhouses” for a true home theater experience. It consists on the 70-inch Westinghouse UW70T9VZ, and the 55-inch EW55 series. Both are LED HDTVs and feature 1080 full HD panels with a 120Hz refresh rate and 8ms to reduce image blur and judder. Both have 3x HDMI, 1x VGA, and 1x component.
Westinghouse UW46 Series, Ultra-Slim Bezel
Making its debut at CES 2012, the Westinghouse UW46 series is a 46-inch ultra-slim bezel LED HDTV. This is their very first ultra slim bezel model and it looks great/ It too has a 1080p LCD panel, with 120Hz refresh rates, and a faster 6.5ms response time for sharper images during high motion. It also features 3D noise reduction, three way selectable color temperature and an inverse 3:2 pulldown.
Westinghouse EW40 / EW32 Series
The Westinghouse EW40 Series is their mid range series, and is “perfect for a true HD picture in any room”. The 40-inch EW40 also has a full HD 1080p LCD panel, and offers a “high contrast ratio” with 120Hz refresh rate and a fast 65.ms response time. It features 2x HDMI, 1x composite, and 1 x VGA / component input. So you might be a little limited if you have a lot of HD equipment to connect.
There is also the 32-inch Westinghouse EW32 series, which is a 32-inch HDTV with a 720p resolution, and has the same inputs as the EW40.
Westinghouse W47S2TCD (W47 Series) 3D HDTV
The Westinghouse W47S2TCD is their very first 3DTV offering. Westinghouse say that the 47-inch W47 series / W47S2TCD, gives consumers a chance to have the latest 3D HDTV technology at a very reasonable price, exactly what that price is we don’t know, but we’re sure we will find out next week.
It’s a passive 3D LCD HDTV with a 1080p Full HD resolution, and a very fast 6ms response time. It has a three way selectable color temperature, and “DayBright”, which makes for ideal viewing in daytime and nighttime.
The Westinghouse W47S2TCD comes compete with four pairs of 3D glasses.
Westinghouse EW Series
Westinghouse are also introducting three “mutlifunctaion” LED sets, than can be used as a HDTV, gaming or computer display. The 24-inch EW24 series and 22-inch EW22 both have a full HD 1080p resolution, while the smaller 19-inch EW19 has a 720p resolution.
All have a 5ms response time, 2x HDMI inputs, 1x composite, and 1x VGA / component input.
Westinghouse CW Series
The final series of HDTVs are the Westinghouse CW series. All these models are CCFL based backlit LCDs rather than LED backlit. The 50-inch CW50, 38.5-inch CW39, and 37-inch CW37 all have a full HD 1080p LCD panel with three HDMI inputs, component and VGA input. They have a “super quick” response time, and a number of picture enhancements such as 3D noise reduction, inverse 3:2 pull down, and user selectable color temperature.
Finally Westinghouse say they are going to show off a new range of accessories, including their very first soundbar. The Westinghouse WSB-N20BW soundbar has wireless bluetooth, with “powerful sound” and a clean slead design. It has a class D amp, 2 x 12 watt speakers, with a frequency response of 85Hz – 20Khz.
We’re sure Westinghouse will release more information including photos, and prices next week at CES 2012, be sure to check back then as we will be updating this post.
